Lace skirts and skyscraper wedges

Top: New Look
Skirt: H&M
Shoes: Amazon
Earrings: Primark

The other night I was at a party for a friend's birthday and I felt it was a good excuse to wear the skirt I got at Christmas that I haven't had a chance to wear yet. I really like the dip-hem on it but the built-in underskirt tends to ride up quite a lot so I had to wear another black skirt underneath too.

I also wore my new shoes which I posted about a few days ago. This was the first time I'd worn them out and I found them to be really comfy and surprisingly easy to walk in all night. They're great because they are so so high and they add about 6 inches to my height and, being a mere 5'2, I really appreciate it!

I decided to accessorize it pretty plainly and I just went for simple silver cross earrings and a top-knot. I don't usually wear my hair up for nice occasions but I tried this new curling technique thingy and it made my hair look a bit lion-esque so I needed a way to hide my mane. I also wore my makeup quite plain - just a bit of eyeshadow, mascara and eyeliner for my eyes and some red lipstick to brighten the whole thing up a bit. And it also matched my shoes.

What do you think?

Vintage cameras and ombre nails

A couple of days ago I found this beautiful old camera in my dad's drawer which I had to show you because it's so pretty. Obviously it needs film to run which, at the moment, it hasn't got but hopefully he'll let me have it and I'll be able to get some film for it!
I did my nails this morning and I decided to try and do a kind of ombre thingy on them. I had seen it done before with two colours but I decided to add in a third colour in the middle. The colours I used were light blue and purple from a Claire's set and one called 'Purple Haze' (even though it's pink) which I got in a magazine and doesn't seem to have a brand on it.

I just painted all my nails with the light blue; waited for it to dry; poured a bit of the purple onto a piece of paper and dipped in a little sponge and then sponged it three quarters of the way up my nail starting from the bottom; waited for that to dry and then did the same with the pink paint but this time I only sponged up about half way. Simples.

New Stuff!

Okay so long time, no see huh? Yeah, sorry about that. Stuff's been busy but I'm not going to get into excuses.

So in a couple of months my school are having a 'Spring Fling'. This isn't the kind of clich├ęd dance they have in America though, it's a ceilidh. So because ceilidhs are typically Scottish events, and because I'm Scottish, I thought I'd buy myself a tartan dress and some new shoes.

Dress:Amazon
I really thought everything about this dress was lovely, the little velvety collar and the love heart back are such lovely little details.

 Shoes:Amazon
When I initially ordered these I thought they might be too high but actually, when they arrived and I tried them on I found I could walk quite easily in them because of the big platform. I probably won't be able to dance in them - and it's twirly partner dancing, not just bouncing up and down dancing - but I'll take flats with me for that!

Sorry it was such a quick one but I should have a review coming for you fairly soon!
